Hello
There is a HUGE disconnect between the map data available on web application and what is in the iPhone app. I cant help but wonder about the accuracy (or inaccuracy) of the information contained in both. At best, as a user I am missing out on some possibly useful information when planning or out on a ride. At worst I am lost, cold, tired, hungry, and out of gas in a formidable environment full of fearsome creatures just waiting for me to expire so they can rip the tendrils from my decomposing corpse.
Its super annoying that when switching from MAP to RIDES and then back to MAP the map re-centers itself on my current location rather than back to the point that was last viewed.
And I suppose I should have realized prior to installing it, that the app cannot be used to plan rides. Or it could have been made more clear in the app store description. It seems the app also doesnt include any capacity for navigation. Which makes it really only able to track rides. Which seems much more useful to a company in the business of making maps that needs data for making maps than it does for a rider than needs to plan and navigate a ride.
There are a number of free apps available for GPS tracking. As well as free apps with offline mapping. And there are also free apps that are capable of creating routes using waypoints.
This app makes me feel like Im doing your job for you by tracking my rides and paying you for the pleasure of doing it.
