When I happened to find this app I was excited, thinking I finally found the app with the features Ive been searching for: 1) create a route and then load to gps device. 2) customizable routes with moveable waypoints. 3) saveable routes 4) iPad friendly. 5) Navigate using your saved and uploaded routes. Unfortunately, this app falls way short.
Finding this app and website are feat in and of themselves. Searching for Rever in the app store or Rever.com on the web is not as straight forward was youd think. Try and youll see. Why make this app and web site so obscure to searches?
What I REALLY crave is an iPad app (iPhone also) in which I can create my route. Sitting at home sipping a latte while creating my route on a super fast desktop machine with high speed internet is only the beginning and NOT where I do most of my trip planning. What would really be useful, is to be on the road, with my iPad and be able to create and use this app. But this is not possible. This seems to be an app for day trippers and not extended serious riders. Have you ever been on an extended ride, meet some cool local who gives a tip on where to ride and what to see? Of course! But this app/system is NOT conducive to changing the route sans the trusty desktop and lattee. My trips change in mid stream quite often. Id need an app that can change with me.
What this app really seems to promote is the social media aspect, "Lookie at what I did..." b.s. by posting your planned route and then tracking what you did. I dont give a hoot about that especially if I cannot plan the trip to begin with. And then they want to charge $6/mo or $60/yr? CRAZY and SO not worth it. Its much easier to sit down with a Butler map (costs only $15) and plan a route that way.
Fix a LOT in this app and website, make it easier to find, iPad compatibility, and usefulness for creating on the road sans desktop, and THEN this app would become useful.
