REVER - Motorcycle GPS & Rides App Reviews

Good app with some issues

Ive really enjoyed the app so far. The interface is great, tracking is accurate, and it has some nice features. My biggest complaint, and the reason for 3 stars, is it force closes when I try to share a ride. This was one feature I was really looking forward to.

Like the app.

Great idea its like mapmyride but for motorcycle still has a lot glitches .. It crashes when you try to shared your rides and sometimes when you are saving the ride . It doesnt have auto pause ..

Boom

Ive been waiting some time for an app that tracks rides this well! Thank you Rever. Already great. I cant wait to see how it evolves.

great app, expensive subscription

love the concept of the app - bummed its an expensive subscription to use the full features.

Very good on the way to excellent!

In many ways this app is very similar to many out there, however the combination of app and site ride editing capabilities make it a worthwhile motorcyclist product. Auto-pause would be a welcomed feature to the app. Also making the free membership more useful should attract newcomers.

Great easy to use app!

The only reason I gave the 4 and not 5 stars is for the off road option. I ride motocross and there is no way to record individual lap times. I have contacted them about this and they assured me that this is something that will be in a future update. When that happens they will get 5 starts. Great app tho! Easy to use and navigate.

Almost perfect

App runs great and gives great info, but tends to drop the ride being tracked if you pause it for more than a couple of minutes (like to get a bite to eat). At least it saves what you did to that point - it would be great to combine two halves of the ride if pausing keeps doing this - I know I wouldnt mind it as much.

best motocycle tracking app

it has all the function that i need. record the gps route. if the offline become free that will be great

Revs to 11,000!

Wow this has become one of my favorite apps. Its so easy to use. Makes riding more fun and planning a breeze. Love it

Disappointing

Hello There is a HUGE disconnect between the map data available on web application and what is in the iPhone app. I cant help but wonder about the accuracy (or inaccuracy) of the information contained in both. At best, as a user I am missing out on some possibly useful information when planning or out on a ride. At worst I am lost, cold, tired, hungry, and out of gas in a formidable environment full of fearsome creatures just waiting for me to expire so they can rip the tendrils from my decomposing corpse. Its super annoying that when switching from MAP to RIDES and then back to MAP the map re-centers itself on my current location rather than back to the point that was last viewed. And I suppose I should have realized prior to installing it, that the app cannot be used to plan rides. Or it could have been made more clear in the app store description. It seems the app also doesnt include any capacity for navigation. Which makes it really only able to track rides. Which seems much more useful to a company in the business of making maps that needs data for making maps than it does for a rider than needs to plan and navigate a ride. There are a number of free apps available for GPS tracking. As well as free apps with offline mapping. And there are also free apps that are capable of creating routes using waypoints. This app makes me feel like Im doing your job for you by tracking my rides and paying you for the pleasure of doing it.

Thats fast!

No really happy with the app. On every ride I go on, the app keeps the time & route pretty accurate...when it works. On the ride summary it always shows my top speed well over the speed limit...up to 122mph. Would like to see it more accurate. Otherwise, not too bad.

Clean and effective

I am pretty excited to see where this app goes. Designed to be used in conjunction with their web app. It provides users a easy way to plan and ride routes. As it sits now there is no reason for me to upgrade to a subscription, no Butler maps in my area and the other paid features do not appeal to me. However, as they continue to develop this app I am sure pretty sure they will release something that will make convert.

Ok for home use. Awful for on the road use.

When I happened to find this app I was excited, thinking I finally found the app with the features Ive been searching for: 1) create a route and then load to gps device. 2) customizable routes with moveable waypoints. 3) saveable routes 4) iPad friendly. 5) Navigate using your saved and uploaded routes. Unfortunately, this app falls way short. Finding this app and website are feat in and of themselves. Searching for Rever in the app store or Rever.com on the web is not as straight forward was youd think. Try and youll see. Why make this app and web site so obscure to searches? What I REALLY crave is an iPad app (iPhone also) in which I can create my route. Sitting at home sipping a latte while creating my route on a super fast desktop machine with high speed internet is only the beginning and NOT where I do most of my trip planning. What would really be useful, is to be on the road, with my iPad and be able to create and use this app. But this is not possible. This seems to be an app for day trippers and not extended serious riders. Have you ever been on an extended ride, meet some cool local who gives a tip on where to ride and what to see? Of course! But this app/system is NOT conducive to changing the route sans the trusty desktop and lattee. My trips change in mid stream quite often. Id need an app that can change with me. What this app really seems to promote is the social media aspect, "Lookie at what I did..." b.s. by posting your planned route and then tracking what you did. I dont give a hoot about that especially if I cannot plan the trip to begin with. And then they want to charge $6/mo or $60/yr? CRAZY and SO not worth it. Its much easier to sit down with a Butler map (costs only $15) and plan a route that way. Fix a LOT in this app and website, make it easier to find, iPad compatibility, and usefulness for creating on the road sans desktop, and THEN this app would become useful.

Works as promised

Super easy to use. Havent tried the subscription version, but solid features in the free version.

Why pay to save routes?

Try Honda Trip Planner or Harley Ride Planner.

Perfect Moto app

I use the app on my dirt bike. Tracks with precision and love checking my rides on the site to see the single tracks I missed. Keep up the good work. I noticed a review that says you need to pay to save rides. This is not true. Most functions are free a couple of sweet functions you need to pay for.

so where is it?

says downloaded. but nothing showed up.

Great app

I love tracking my rides with Rever. This app does this and a heck of lot more. There is a ton of single track moto rides where I live and the tracking system/gps is very accurate. I like the new feature of auto pause and of course I like to see how fast I ride as this app gives me my highest mph which I can compare with my friends. Before Rever came along I would use Map my ride but this was not a motorcycle specific app. Now I track all of my rides and can share them with my friends. Great app!

Excellent!!

Moto in the summer, sledding in the winter, the app rocks! Map function lets me plan the next ride. Thank you Rever! Setting mileage goals keeps me motivated!

Best tracker ever

This app is amazing. Will track you in and out of service and has a very user friendly operation. Very precise. Wonderful app.
